My Pillow Pets are a series of different stuffed animals that are meant to function as both a pillow and as a stuffed animal toy. Each animal is about 18″ in length, therefore a pretty nice size for a child’s pillow. It’s quite easy to transform the animal into a pillow, and the child can do this themselves with a simple velcro closure. The fabric is very soft plush and chenille, and it’s completely washable on a gentle wash cycle.
The animals that are available include the lady bug (pictures to the left), bumble bee, dog, unicorn, dolphin, panda, monkey, penguin, dalmatian, cat, bunny, pig, frog, zebra, cow, lamb turtle, hippo, horse, giraffe, elephant, duck, tiger, polar bear, moose, lion, whale and alligator.
The only negative is that the pillow is a little less breathable than a regular pillow, so if your child has a habit of sleeping face down, you’ll want to be careful to make sure they have plenty of space to breath. Not a problem for most kids though.
Overall, the My Pillow Pets series is a great gift idea for birthdays, Christmas or any other occasion. The pets serve as cuddly plush pals to play with and give comfort to your child, but they also serve the double use of being a pillow. I can imagine that many children would get attached to their My Pillow Pet. Perfect for children who will be attending their first sleepovers, it would bring them a sense of comfort and familiarity. Also, since there are so many different animals and colors available, a My Pillow Pet would fit just about any decor or theme.
